EMOTIONALLY INTERPRETED REALISM
For more than 20 years, painting has been a way for me to come closer to what cannot always be put into words.
My works emerge intuitively and evolve through the process. Layers are created, overlaid, broken open again or reduced. A painting is allowed to change direction – and sometimes to change my own initial idea of what it might become.
I am interested in the moment when representation alone is no longer enough. When something else becomes perceptible beneath the visible surface: vulnerability, closeness, loss, longing, strength. Experiences that can be deeply personal and yet connect us with one another.
My works move between figuration and dissolution, between external reality and inner perception. The figurative provides a sense of grounding – the undefined opens a space for personal perception.
My paintings do not seek to provide answers.
They seek to touch.
